I grew up in Washington, D.C., where I first picked up a Nikon N2000 in the 1980s and began photographing bands and shows in small venues, and the rhythm of the DC streets during a transformational time. After a long hiatus, I’ve returned to photography with renewed focus—documenting live music, concerts, travel, and urban life, while slowly getting into portraiture as well.
I shoot both digital and film, and still develop much of my own film by hand. My film work spans several trusted cameras, including the Nikon F, F3, F100, FM2n, and the Mamiya M645, and I’ve recently started experimenting with some of the original Barnack Leicas. I mostly shoot Kodak film—Tri-X 400 is my go-to for black and white, and for color, I enjoy Portra 400 and Vision3 500T.
I'm erratic on posting on the socials, but do try to take the time to share images of people who have been willing subjects, either in the studio or out in the streets.
